The Caledonian Railway built these coaches for their service between Glasgow
and
Edinburgh and Perth and Aberdeen.
They were designed by Mr. J. F. McIntosh, M.Inst C.E., Locomotive Carriage and Wagon Superintendent, and were built at the company’s works at St. Rollox, Glasgow.
